City Council Meeting-OVER-VIEW

The council went into an executive session to discuss the matter of the tree/sidewalk project.

A resolution was written to create an ad hoc committee formed by a diverse group. Meaning, people with a range of backgrounds, both for and against the removal of trees. This group will walk the two blocks and view the work that has already been completed and report back to the council, "ideally by consensus" on or before Friday of this week. A vote to have a special meeting on Monday, Sept. 24th to review the first section of work by this committee.

All voted yes to the resolution with the exception of Eleanor Thompson. Thompson, expressed general unhappiness and frustration towards the situation, stating that she needed clarity and would like a constituent on behalf of the city council to review the work and the contract. She did not feel comfortable voting on anything at that moment.
